About the Tarrytown Economic Development Study (TEDS)
After preparing a Strategic Plan for the station area and waterfront, the Village realized that it needed an economic development strategy for all of Tarrytown. Planning for the station area and waterfront is an important part of Tarrytown's future, but it is only one piece of the puzzle. A plan for the station area needs to be part of a comprehensive strategy to support the Village's tax base, reinforce Downtown, improve access and circulation and preserve Tarrytown's historic character and charm. The Village worked with economic consultant Kevin Dwarka LLC to develop a Tarrytown Economic Development Study (TEDS) that recommends ways that Tarrytown can advance village-wide economic development as it plans for the future of the station area and waterfront.

TEDS suggests ways for Tarrytown to:
1. Stimulate sustainable development
2. Preserve and enhance local businesses
3. Improve access and circulation
4. Promote tourism
5. Promote an inclusive Tarrytown

Engagement |
Through the summer and fall of 2015, the Village held a series of focus groups with the business community, property owners, municipal officials and non-profit organizations to understand the variety of issues and opportunities affecting Tarrytown's economy. In November 2015, Tarrytown hosted an Open House to hear what residents had to say about preliminary ideas for Village-wide economic development. Stay tuned for the draft TEDS document, which will be posted here soon!
